Inspired by post-impressionism with a focus on color and line over realism, I spend my days painting in my home studio in Alexandria, Virginia, where I live with my husband and our cat. If you can't find me there, you can find me exploring the local shops, restaurants, and galleries of Alexandria and metro Washington, D.C. or at home watching Netflix and enjoying my husband's cooking (yum). My pieces tend to have an inherent softness and stillness about them; I strive to create work that inspires a quiet moment in a loud and busy world. Allowing my pencil lines to show and often adding paper or wax crayon, my paintings become a true harmony of color and texture. I feel most connected to my artwork seeing it hung in a home, bringing elegance and warmth into a space. Even with nearly two decades of painting experience, I never seem to tire of the process. I get lost in the colors and brushstrokes, almost forgetting my hand exists as it reacts to the canvas. The movement of paint, the drips and washes and smears of color, are pure magic as they create shape and form before my eyes. I find beauty, love, romance, memories, and dreams in those colors. Every painting is a journal entry - a hope, a memory, a portrait - in different form. My art and design work have been shown in both the U.S. and abroad. My work has been sold through Anthropologie and, in partnership with Minted, was featured on the set of Home & Family on the Hallmark Channel for seasons 5, 6, and 7and I am a member of the Torpedo Factory Artists' Association.
